The Armenian Heritage Park in Providence, Rhode Island, serves as a poignant tribute to the victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide and celebrates the enduring legacy of Armenian heritage and culture. Donated to the city of Providence by Kazar, Nevart, and Martha Aramian, the park features a freestanding inscription-stone elevated on circular steps, located within the city’s public parkland.
The park’s inscription reads:
“ARMENIAN HERITAGE PARK. A TRIBUTE TO OUR FOREFATHERS WHO SEARCHED FOR FREEDOM AND HUMAN DIGNITY. HERITAGE CULTURE TRADITION. WHEREVER ARMENIAN IS SPOKEN OR WRITTEN ARMENIA LIVES.”
Dedicated on November 5, 1995, and completed earlier that fall, the park is designed to honor the struggles and resilience of the Armenian people while serving as a symbol of hope and cultural pride. Its location offers a serene setting with tourist amenities, making it a welcoming space for reflection and remembrance. Well-preserved since its completion, the park remains a meaningful destination for both the local community and visitors from around the world.
