Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist Lee Abrahamian was appointed as the Metropolitan Opera’s director of Communications in 2008.

Abrahamian began her career as news director at WCBS-TV, where she also executive-produced numerous specials covering major events such as the Pope’s visit to New York City, political conventions, and the Tony Awards.

Prior to her appointment at the Met, Abrahamian worked as an executive producer for MSNBC. She also was a contributing arts writer for msnbc.com.

Abrahamian is a graduate of New York University.
