Armenian Artists
THROUGH OUR CREATIVITY AND VISION, WE WEAVE STORIES OF HERITAGE, IDENTITY, AND THE HUMAN SPIRIT.
Lika Brutyan
My art is a dialogue with movement, fluidity, and the rawness of human vulnerability. Through photography and sculptural forms, I seek to evoke emotions that resonate beyond the tangible. My work defies the static and the finite, embracing the unspoken, the unfinished, and the imperfect. Each piece carries a sense of continuation—a rhythm that echoes the ceaseless motion of life itself. For me, art is not about perfection but about stirring something profound within, reminding us that there is no true end, only the constant evolution of form, feeling, and connection.
Bio
Lika Brutyan is an Armenian Los Angeles-based artist and photographer whose creative journey is deeply influenced by her family’s roots in both science and art. Born in 1975, she was raised to appreciate creativity and the depth of personal expression.
After earning her Master’s degree in Psychology in 1996, Brutyan turned to photography as her primary artistic medium, to capture moments of beauty, introspection, and the delicate contours of the female form. Her passion for photography, which began in her teenage years, has taken her to remarkable places and earned her international recognition. Her work has been exhibited in prestigious venues across the United States, France, Great Britain, Romania, and Italy, and has been featured in renowned magazines and private collections worldwide.
Brutyan’s photography explores the elegance and complexity of femininity, emphasizing the lines, curves, and textures of the human body. Her images evoke vulnerability and depth, inviting viewers to reflect on their own stories and emotions.
In recent years, she has expanded her artistic practice to include sculpture, discovering a new passion for working with clay. This medium allows her to explore the tactile and physical aspects of art, resulting in organic and expressive sculptural pieces. Her sculptures, much like her photography, showcase intricate textures and fluid forms, reflecting her meticulous attention to detail and deep engagement with the human experience.
