The Center for Armenian Arts presents Beyond the Visible, the first solo exhibition in the United States by Armenian-born, Los Angeles-based artist, designer, and art educator Nune Shakhnazaryan. Bringing together more than three decades of creative exploration, the exhibition marks an important milestone in an artistic journey that began in Yerevan and has continued through Armenia, Europe, and the United States.
Shakhnazaryan’s paintings combine architectural elements, human narratives, personal memories, and symbolic imagery, moving freely between reality and imagination. Rather than following one fixed visual language, she approaches each work as an opportunity to experiment with new techniques, emotions, and perspectives. Her compositions look beyond outward appearances to explore the inner experiences and untold stories held within people, places, and everyday moments.
Alongside her artistic practice, Shakhnazaryan is the founder of 360Creative, an art school devoted to nurturing children’s imagination and individual expression. Beyond the Visible reflects her belief that art should evolve as we evolve—remaining sincere, curious, and open to continuous discovery.
