Throughout their some 4,000-year history,
Armenians have made lasting
contributions to world civilization. With innovations in science,
technology and industry, powerful works of art and literature, and
far-reaching acts of humanitarian outreach, Armenians have often gone
beyond the local and tribal, to make a significant difference for all of
humanity.
With the Gifts to the World project, the Armenian Arts
organization will
celebrate many of those contributions in an extraordinary book, entitled
Gifts to the World.
The collaborative effort of researchers, editors and
designers, the
English-language Gifts to the World will list biographies and pictures
of Armenian contributors to world civilization in one of nine different
categories. Printed on high-quality stock and featuring a world-class,
full color design, the book will be available internationally.
Gifts to the World is expected to become a staple of pride
and enjoyment
in Armenian homes, as well as an exceptional source of reference and
information for anyone interested in the Armenians and their enduring
gifts to humanity.
You, too, can get involved.
In fact, we're counting on you for the optimal success of
this important
initiative.
You might choose to make a minimum donation of $100 to help
us continue
conducting the critical research phase of the project. Your generous
participation will get you a copy of Gifts to the World (valued at $75)
upon publication, and an acknowledgment in the book's sponsor page.
You can also assist us by submitting information regarding
one or
several Armenians whose work might be considered a valuable contribution
to humanity. The main criterion for consideration is that such work
should have universal meaning and not just confined to an Armenian
context. The nine contribution categories are listed on the facing page.
Founded in 2000, the non-profit Armenian Arts organization
seeks to
promote cultural excellence through groundbreaking publications and
performing arts events in California and elsewhere.
With grass-roots support, the Gifts to the World project will
become the
organization's first major publishing achievement and a milestone for
disseminating Armenian culture across the globe. |
